Red, White, and Blue Smoothie Popsicles

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prepare the molds. Place popsicle molds on a flat surface that fits in your freezer.
  2. Blend the red layer. Add strawberries, banana, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and honey to a blender. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour the red layer. Spoon or pour the strawberry smoothie into the bottom third of each popsicle mold.
  4. Freeze briefly. Freeze for 20 to 30 minutes so the red layer firms up slightly.
  5. Blend the white layer. Blend Greek yogurt, banana, vanilla, and honey until creamy and smooth.
  6. Add the white layer. Spoon the white smoothie layer over the red layer. Freeze again for 20 to 30 minutes.
  7. Blend the blue layer. Blend blueberries, banana, Greek yogurt, lime juice, and honey until smooth.
  8. Add the blue layer. Spoon the blueberry smoothie layer into the top of each mold.
  9. Add sticks. Insert popsicle sticks and make sure they stand straight.
  10. Freeze completely. Freeze for at least 4 to 6 hours, or overnight, until fully solid.
  11. Unmold and serve. Run the outside of the mold under warm water for a few seconds, then gently remove the popsicles.
Pro Tip: For clean patriotic stripes, freeze each layer until slightly firm before adding the next layer.
Pro Tip: Taste each smoothie layer before freezing. Frozen treats taste less sweet once solid, so add a little more honey if needed.

Healthy Tips & Daily Wellness

These red, white, and blue smoothie popsicles are a lighter summer dessert because they use fruit, yogurt, banana, and natural sweetener instead of heavy cream or artificial colors.

Greek yogurt adds creaminess and protein, while berries bring fresh flavor and natural color. Banana helps create a smooth texture without needing too much added sugar.

For a dairy-free version, use coconut yogurt or almond milk yogurt. For a higher-protein version, use high-protein Greek yogurt or blend a little vanilla protein powder into the white layer.

For kids, make smaller popsicles in mini molds. They freeze faster, melt less, and are easier to serve at pool parties, BBQs, and Fourth of July dessert tables.
